    It seems that the beeping is loud to cut through the loud fan noise, and the pump is loud to cover up the beeping ! This unit would be a no-go for me.... I'd have to tame down the volume on the beeper if possible as well as installing a quieter fan.

    • @TheDefpom
      @TheDefpom 3 дня назад

      @@goodun2974 beeping isn’t an issue in reality, I almost never change the temp on it, just pick up the handle and use it. I actually like mine, I did this review quite a while ago and I’m still using it. I did a 2nd video modifying it to reduce the fan noise, and put the power switch on the front, which is where it should be on EVERY product.

    By chance just happened to watch this again where at ~7.45 you change from Auto to Manual attenuation which I cannot recommend. When using an external attenuator you should instead leave Auto Attenuation set and adjust the Ref Offset to account for the external attenuation. While set to Auto, the analyzer can better protect itself especially at its most sensitive settings.

    17710uF .26Ohms "seems reasonable". NO!!!! the 2200uF capacitors should probably be less than 50mOhms - each! I'm assuming they are 35V given the 24V output. It's hard to estimate the size but the absolute cheapest 2200uF/35V from Digikey is the EKYC350ELL222ML20S, 16mm dia x 22mm which looks similar size, with a specified ESR of 38mOhms at 100kHz. 8 in parallel would be nearer *5mOhms* than *260mOhms!* Assuming a ripple current of 30% of output current (fairly typical) that would be 7.5Arms. 7.5^2 x .26Ohms = 14.6W 🌡Ouch. I'm guessing the power supply will not be a happy bunny at full load. Never forget the golden rule - *"It's always the Crapacitors"* [EDIT] Since you saw very little ripple voltage at 12A, maybe the ESR measurment wasn't reliable? Or perhaps the designed ripple current in the ouput capacitors is very low, implying a rather large inductor?

    I remember this little cute baby boy of a power supply! 🫠🫠 The large elco's aren't particularly bulged per-se. They're just built like that. Like ass, with a few bulges and a crack in the center. Fans getting faster and slower like that generally/often have issues with gunked up grease/oil in the bearings' races or bearing sleeves. The heat of running liquifies it more so they get faster as they run, but dust and dirt in the grease can then also redistribute and cause it to intermittently experience more friction. This one looks like a ball bearing one, judging from the large fan motor hub, even without needing to open it up. That's how I can tell. :) When oiling bearings in fans, please don't use WD40 as a lubricant! It works wonders for flushing out old grease as it's mostly solvent, but when it evaporates it has no more lubricating properties. Use sewing machine or light machine oil (or, if you must, 5W-30 or 10W-30 oil)!

There should be enough safe flex in the lead screws to remove them, insert the pulleys and fit the belt. That's how the block was originally fitted to the single lead screw on first assembly.

    Hi! I'm going to try this but I see four red connections? I need the video signal, the reverse and what else? Thanks for a good video!

      Since the camera is already plugged in I only need video+, video-(shield?), and the reverse trigger right?
